It is a legit question. If we meet 14 days of the benchmarks why can’t we open up more before the “assigned August 28?”

He isn’t going to jump to Phase 3 & the only thing with a chance of opening is bars & that’s not going to happen with LSU starting 8/24

He will extend 2 more weeks to get past Labor Day

We’re not even in Phase 2. Our next move will be to actually go back to Phase 2.

Maybe bars will be able to open after Labor Day.

Perhaps a gift from daddy for our good behavior

I think other things are going to be open but not bars. I think they got pushed to the end of the line.

They aren’t as dumb as the old people that shut down the world and ruined people’s livelihoods over a virus with extremely low mortality

If it wasn’t for young people, we would be wide open.

So here's the thing....if we are ever going to phase 3 and beyond prior to Nov. 4 it will be to get LSU football. So what you are telling me is that we could potentially let 25K-50K (estimates I heard out of Verge Ausberry's own mouth on the radio) into Tiger Stadium on 9/26 but we can't open up barrooms?

Come on man this is just asinine....there is absolutely 0 reason for small community bar's to be suffering due to some shite that happened in Tigerland and on Bourbon St.

We can move to phase 3 for sports and severely limit fan attendance.

Saints went to no fans for first game. Verge is going to get over ruled.

If high school sports start, there will be very limited fans.

Bar owners should be applying for temporary food license and spread everyone out.

25K is severely limited for LSU.

The NFL will probably bail out teams that have to have games with no fans....Destroya may make the NFL bail out the whole Saints season. I mean hell if they cancel 2021 Mardi Gras but let fans in the stands at any point that would be dumb. It makes minimal sense to fight for a season with limited fans in attendance....it makes 0 sense to fight for a season with 0 fans in attendance for college because there won't be a bail out coming at least not with this Congress (US or LA).

Most schools could have a regular Friday night crowd and be considered "very limited".

I wouldn't bet my bottom dollar that JBE minions will be chomping a the bit to give these licenses out.

What is left to open other than nursing homes & bars?
Amusement parks & concerts?

There is still a ton of money for LSU to make with TV.

The high school football games I have seen are usually jam packed. That will be adjusted.

In short, the decision to be a bar or restaurant contains a variety of factors and a city (or parish) license and state license. In many cases in New Orleans, there is a moratorium on new bar licenses (from the City), so a new on-premise retail license needs to be a restaurant license per city or parish ordinance. But that doesn't mean a bar can't go from the more restrictive bar license to the generally less restrictive restaurant license.

(Above painted with a broad brush, but you get the idea).
