I really was asking for that.

How do you remove 7000 cases, but no positive results?
All those 7000 cases were negative?
That's odd.
That is odd. I know of 2 people that had 2 tests, and both were positive. 1 couldn't wait 2 weeks for the result to go back to work. The other had a test, then had to be hospitalized before the results from the first test.
I'm sure there are several more situations similar

There will be increased cases once things open up. Bank on it. We actually need it to spread (hopefully in a more controlled way) over the summer. Most people who get it won't even know. It is past time to open things up.
Of course. But if we don't adhere to mitigation protocols then it may spread faster than expected in cities. Just a risk, is all. Not trying to say it won't work out just that we need to stay vigilant.

It's a good feeling
some restaurants and bars will be gone forever. the hospitality industry is fricked for the foreseeable future because there will be restrictions on capacity. with the overhead being so high, there is no way these places will make it with capacity restrictions.
considering that many local economies are also screwed these people will not be able to support the opening of restaurants anyways
and you think you're going to have a "date night" soon, just lol

I meant that the worst of the infections are behind us hopefully
I know that the worst of economic impacts have yet to come.

gotcha, i just dont get why everyone is celebrating "opening up" like our lives are suddenly going to return to normal once it happens

Ready for a date night with my wife.
Date night would be great but I would just settle for being able to send the kids over to Grandma and Grandpa for the night or even just a few hours!

You’re a fool. I promise you that it may be weird when we first open things up but things will get to normal quickly. People will still order stuff Togo etc. Of course some places will be gone for ever. That’s the service industry. If your service sucks people quit going. That is not necessarily a product of the virus.

I can't speak for everyone else. I understand things won't be back to normal anytime soon. We're going to be economically suppressed one way or another until we get a a solid treatment medication or vaccine. my wife and I are both fortunate enough to still have our jobs, and in all likelihood will not be losing them. So I am selfishly looking forward to being able to get out and restore some some small sense of normalcy

No idea. I don't pretend to be an economist or know much about the economy, but it seems pretty obvious to me that our current rate of 20% unemployment will take a long time to recover from. Even once we open back up don't expect for restaurants and retail stores to be back at full operation anytime soon as a measure to control the rate of spread of the virus. Jobs won't be there.

Playing with some numbers:
26,773 Cases
1,670 Deaths
1,701 Hospitalized
14,927 Recovered (as of 4/22)
These numbers alone imply there are 8,475 active cases in the public that should be self-quarantining
But, take it a step further, conservatively, that number is somewhere around 6,019 - 5,069 for the entire State
Subtract 3,645 cases of people that had symptoms from 4/2 - 4/6 (21 days since symptoms started and not dead)
Add back 239 deaths over the past 4 days to conservatively assume all deaths are tied to those 3,645 cases. Results in 5,069
Subtract 2,695 cases of people that had symptoms from 4/8 - 4/12 (14 days since symptoms started and not dead)
Add back 239 deaths over the past 4 days to conservatively assume all deaths are tied to those 3,645 cases. Results in 6,019

If you really want to blow your mind take a look at the antibody surveys starting to come in this week. They're suggesting for every confirmed case there might be another 15 people that were infected and didn't even know or feel compelled to get tested.
Posted on 4/26/20 at 4:10 pm to TigerTitleHunter
Louisiana had an antibody study?
Posted on 4/26/20 at 4:13 pm to fightin tigers
Not that I can find. I'm hoping JBE talks about it this week.
These are the ones I've seen so far:
Los Angeles County
New York State
Miami-Dade
Chelsea, MA
I know Ohio State is starting one shortly. If anyone knows of any more let me know.
