Also for discussion purposes, according to the link below Texas actually has more “regressive” tax policy than Alabama and Louisiana, which surprised me.
Their most “equitable” are california, New York, and New Jersey. Which I guess is true, they take all of everyone’s money in those states

Oh wow. One month of less taxes. I pay over $500/month in LA.

I would rather my wife frick Jodylio
Lousyana sadly is owned and run by Gordon and the plaintiff leeches and whores, and that won’t be changing in the next few decades

That's why I asked the question, a-hole.

$500/year is in the rounding of what I pay in property taxes every year
I understood this to say you pay $500/year, which to me is unbelievable. So, can you answer my question or will you just continue to be a dickwad?

the property taxes were higher in Texas, but not by all THAT much.
But like you said, no state income taxes.

Somehow I’m sure my property taxes here will still increase.
But at least I am in an area with better roads and better government schools, and I don’t pay a state income tax.
Which leads me to this conclusion…keep living TX while working, but retire in Louisiana once no longer pulling an income.

What will the Louisiana baws come back with now that they can’t bitch about how high property taxes are? Texas STACKED, Looziana Fuukkked Ps- more legislation introduced this week to buy down rates even further
Even if these reductions go through, your rates will still be higher than giraffe pussy

Not really unless you make about $200k in LA.

Posted on 8/1/25 at 9:28 am to Mingo Was His NameO
And when us baws in Louisiana retire, we won’t be paying much state income taxes anymore, but you Texas baws are still gonna be paying those high arse property taxes until you die.

have never understood the knock on Texas from Louisiana peeps regarding prop taxes.
It's mostly a cope for living in a poorer less successful state.
While it can be pretty ridiculous in places like Plano, Frisco, or The Woodlands. It's basically a tradeoff everywhere else. You more than make up for it with the higher salaries, no income tax, and better public schools (depending on what district of course).

I guess ChatGPT hasn’t heard of sales tax.
And I’d bet a lot of money it doesn’t have this new legislation factored in as it has to be voted on in November.
And that, baws, is why you don’t trust ai

Louisiana cons - hurricanes, high homeowner insurance, high car insurance, high crime rate, poor infrastructure, addiction is at its highest in gambling and alcohol.
Texas cons - can't think of any.
Texas for the WIN.
Your car insurance rates are probably just as high due to all of the accidents and car theft.
Your crime rates in the large cities are just as bad.
Your infrastructure is due to your huge population and high taxes.
Yes we have gambling and common sense alcohol laws. Try going to buy a bottle of bourbon in Texas after 10 pm.

Of all the reasons to move to TX, I’m not sure that moves the needle

After this legislation the total cost of home ownership in Texas (which is kind of how I view property taxes) is going to be lower than Louisiana.
Louisiana has income tax. Louisiana has a higher sales tax, and will soon tax more shite than Texas.
Enjoy St. Bernard parish though
