The OT has been tough on teachers today no doubt

And because this is an Aggie thread:

No offense but I heard lsu is like high school 2.0 soo
As someone who looks at resumes everyday I'd much rather see a 3.4 from LSU than a 2.6 from A&M. At the end of the day they are both state schools. Plus as far as reputations go, A&M will always be second fiddle to UT.

this is because you are bad at your job baw

Ummm, ok? That seems logical.

Also my GPA was like 2.6 and I did ok as a sales manager for clearlake honda
If your GPA was higher then you could've gotten a real sales job. Not one where you BS the customer and try to lock them in the dealership all day.

I have a 2.175 GPA at the end of my second bachelor's degree. Always start out like crap, and finish strong. IDGAF, because I'll have the same piece of paper as everyone else.
Yeah, I automatically get eliminated from some jobs, but I don't want to work somewhere that places GPA over usable knowledge and work experience

What of a place, you know, may want a little of both? Why waste your money on something you obviously care so little about?

damn baw if you made worse grades than me you are one dumb mfer

I'm definitely not good at tests and that garbage. Plus, I carried a bad GPA over from my first few years at LSU. My skills come into play when something actually needs to be done or designed

The student was really the very worst of what Millennials have to offer. He knows the rules, he doesn't like the rules, and then when what someone carefully explained comes to pass, they say that it was total bullshite and that they earned it simply by existing. He's in for a rude awakening when he gets to the real world (since clearly he's never worked a day in his life), and we need to break it for him sooner rather than later.

You have no idea or knowledge about me. Shut the frick up and quit being so damn self righteous. You have no clue what I've worked for and done in my life.

How important is that once you've got your first job? The 3.4 student could be a wash up while the 2.6 got his shite together and is kicking arse. Who the frick cares about someone's GPA 5 or more years out of college, because it tells you nothing about who they are now?

I saw the syllabus and you think it's unfair when you knowingly broke the rules. The professor may be a pretentious blowhard, but you knew from the start that the professor was a pretentious blowhard. If you had a problem with that when you got the syllabus, you should have dropped immediately.
What you were saying in that thread is the one thing that is guaranteed to piss off every professor on campus that "you're not being paid to be there". Do you really think a professor is going to give you a grade when you basically tell them that you're not worth my time?
You're the worst of this generation's mindset personified. I'm giving you tough love, but you fricking need it. I had a shitty semester too when I was younger, but I got my shite together. It's not the end of the world, nor is your grade up for debate. You may not be a bad person, but your mentality currently sucks.

What are you hiring? Gumbo cooks?

Or HR, maybe? Actually, that is technically true of late in engineering but it's 10 vs 12 so really on par. Overall, neither is close to Rice which is at Ivy League level (tied with Brown and Cornell for #14).
GPA is virtually meaningless by job 2, absolutely meaningless by job 3 or 10 or more years in. Assuming, of course, the hiring person is competent.
