I had the same thought because something looks off about it so I ran it through a few of those AI detector sites but they all said it’s real.

Because there is reason to believe he is not being truthful. I suggest you check his posting history around this announcement. He was randomly posting right before this and after it in unrelated topics like nothing had happened.
He was also was married for 7 years, and his wife was 40+ years old during the whole tenure of their marriage. The picture posted is of a much younger woman. Why would he not include a picture from while they were married?
I hope I am not wrong, because if I am cancer got a person way too young. I have lost family to cancer and it sucks. They way Tantal handled himself around announcing his wife's death is not normal, but I guess we can hide behind everyone grieves different.

Yeah, the photo might not be AI generated, but it looks like an ad from a magazine. If I had to bet all my money on it, I think this story is fake.

To me this is sad either way.
If true-heartbreaking and if not what a sad attention getting maneuver that is a slap in the face to the folks on here who have truly experienced a loss like this.

Although the way he posted and played this out is suspect, I am going to give him a pass and go with this did happen and I am sorry for his loss. He has posted about this in the past and like I said we all grieve different
