Yep..you should have seen and smelled what NOLA looked like the morning after Katrina filled it up....
After the flood I took flights with compassionate people from the West coast who asked me why we would ever live below sea level and why everybody didn't leave beforehand
(gotta love people who understand the destitutely poor without cars who have never left NOLA). A couple of the discussions felt so condescending..
Wonder why they live in a fire and earthquake zone...wonder if they are a little more compassionate now.

All that said...God bless them. I truly hope they can put their lives back together. Like NOLA, it will take decades.
