Apparently the store owner was prepared.

All jewelry stores empty their high dollar display cases every night, and put that stuff in safes in the back.

No, just a Rolex store, they sell Patek and others too. Stores pull all the watches from the cases at closing time they have a vault where the display trays sit until they get taken out in the AM. You don't steal from an upscale watch store after hours unless you can crack a safe.

They tried to hit Breitling but were foiled by cops. They're starting to understand Foot Action isn't all the world has to offer

But the store’s spokesman said “no watches of any kind were stolen, as there weren’t any on display in the store. There were simply windows broken and some vitrines smashed.”

That was before their corporate HQ's in Switzerland got to the office and reviewed the insurance policy.

Can we take that amount out of the reparations total once we get it all figured out?

Those watches should have been in jewelry safes, the average looter isn’t breaking into them

How many of these people get arrested trying to flip these on eBay under their real names?
