Annoying. Especially considering Hamlin was the first American, of either gender, to medal in the luge in single’s competition. She’s also a four-time Olympian and this is her last one.

Taking a look at his twitter, he's nothing but a punk. Complaining and playing the victim every time anything happens. My money is on him failing to win a medal this year and then blaming every(white)one he can find.

This is what I was going to ask. If the flag is supposed to be carried by the most decorated then he has a gripe because he IS the most decorated. But if it's just a popularity thing then he has no fricking reason to gripe.

I mean, the whole thing is pretty informal from my understanding. No hard and fast criteria for who gets to carry it--it's just usually a sentimental favorite/highly decorated athlete, with the former edging out the latter in most cases I've paid fleeting attention to.
