Don’t forget the Shreveport in NW Louisiana that even Epstein’s attorney called a s—hole.

What’s shatty about the casinos in SHV/Bossier? Are they grandiose resort-style hotels, where you can bring the Fam…definitely not. They were meant for adult-only, strictly gambling with a couple restaurants. Horseshoe’s always been classy, Margaritaville decent & the new Live casino is nice.

I guess it all depends on what you call classy.

I don’t know that you want the mess that comes with casinos.

It’s a really really dirty business.

Well…please enlighten me. It’s like old Horseshoe in downtown Vegas. I never said it was a glamorous , resort style casino.

Vegas even happier. Casinos in Dallas and Houston would hurt Vegas badly.

The casinos in Lake Charles including Delta Downs in Vinton with just slot machines generate nearly $90 million per month

Golden Nugget about $30 M per month
LDL about $30 M per month
Delta Downs $15 M per month
Horseshoe $12 M per month

Since it's an indian casino, the numbers aren't public, but Coushatta is rumored to generate another $30 M per month

That's a $110'ish M per month impact on SWLA and that's not including the hotels and restaurants that aren't part of the casinos, which also benefit

Hell no wonder they are pushing to build them everywhere. Thats a pretty big source of revenue in the area that is probably pretty resilient when oil prices look like a storm tossed sea...I was basing my assumptions on personal observations but I did not take into account that I am in a Vegas casino, for example, for a few hours a year if that....not taking into consideration that the damned thing is pretty much open 24-7-365 and while it may look uncrowded the number of people adds up over time. Its also likely that the Louisiana casion industry is probably pumping money into Texas casino opposition as others have suggested.

Google Miriam Adelson and see where she’s from. Donated $106M to Trump in 2024 and somehow received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from him in 2018. It’s just so fascinating how they are such a small percentage yet when it comes to being a billionaire trying to bring gambling and casinos to a state that doesn’t allow it, it’s somehow always them.

Explain to me again why Texans think Texas is some bastion of personal freedom / liberty.

I cannot speak to Houston, but the WinStar casino on I-35 in Oklahoma, just 1 mile north of the Red River, thrives off north Texas gamblers.

I've heard that it is the largest casino in the world in terms of floor space.

There are a couple of others further east, also on the border, that would not exist without north Texans.

The River Wind south of Norman, and the River Spirit in Tulsa, are both really nice.

I liked how smooth the deposits and withdrawals were after I joined KOITOTO through https://armadiofashion.com/, especially since I use e-wallets most of the time. The low minimums make it easy to play casually, and the high RTP slots really do feel more rewarding. The 24/7 support also came in handy the first time I tried a new togel market.

dont get me wrong, the casinos are good for LC, but thats not close to what keeps LC running and currently thriving.

Online sports gambling is by far the bigger evil in this equation. I wish it would go away, I’m sick of it being thrown in my face constantly. I’ve seen a lot of people throw a shite load of money away because they can sit on their couch and place bets and play slots. At least before they had to get off their arse to do it. It’s wayyyyy too easy for people to get addicted and lose all their money. It’s a net negative thing by a lot.

sounds like you have an issue with people that can't control themselves. I don't care if some dumb arse wants to blow all his savings on sports betting, doesn't really affect my day to day.

are you for gun control? Its wayyyyy too easy for some idiot to get a hold of a gun and shoot up a place but I'm told with that its a people issue, not a gun one.

Not supporting gun control, it's just odd where some bible thumpers draw the line on big goverment

When it lands them on government handouts and healthcare, or they resort to scamming disability it matters to the rest of us.

I have always wondered about that.

As far as floor space, Island View in Gulfport must be in the top as far as floor space especailly since they run two gaming areas one on each side of US 90. The new beach side is nice and smoke free, but I don't usually go on that side since it is a hassle to park.

Not even close.

Island View - 126K square feet total (both sides combined).

Winstar - 600K square feet.

Is that what always happens Jake? You have data to back that up? Sounds like fear mongering to prove why you’re in support of big government
