There's your answer. When you consider that he has his family and friends on the payroll... and all those people get their people to vote. It's all one big inbred organization trying to protect that paycheck.

The problem is it backfired because this guy happened to be a predator.
Because of what I knew I can't support Ard. McMasters had little to no money. All of this was a vote against Ard not really any support for McMasters.

The did know Perkins had a reputation for chasing women. That’s actually pretty standard for most cops. SPEEDY could attest to that (he knew my dad).
And, believe it or not, most cops don’t get into each others’ personal lives very often. They typically banter back and forth, joking around, but end up focusing on the job at the end of the day.
There is NO way Ard knew what Perkins was really doing or he wouldn’t have ordered what he ordered on the cybercrimes front. He really went after Perkins.

Ard absolutely knew what type of person Perkins was and he covered up as much as he could for him.
The 2 deputies that went and detained Perkins also allowed him to destroy evidence when they told him to get rid of his phone by throwing it in the water.

Because the media had caught wind of the case and Ard had to do something to save his own arse.
I'm friends with one of the guys that went and got Perkins.
He also worked closely with and was trained by Perkins when he first started with the detective's division.

Its hard to beat the local establishment, but I have noticed in some areas the "establishment" had a run for their money, in some areas even lost.
