As long as you're not trying to get across the river at rush hour, traffic isn't bad at all.

I will be working in Bogalusa and Franklinton but only 14 days a month. How is the Lake Ramsey area?

Definitely buy north of Covington if you are working in those areas. Lake Ramsey would be the place I recommend. Very nice community there

Money hill for a step up from Lake Ramsey

Lake Ramsey was awesome

Then they paved the roads and built a bunch of houses. Still it’s better than trying to go west on i12 at rush hour.

You've provided zero information on what you can afford or your lifestyle, but if you have two cars (for your no pics wife to shop) and a middle school kid, and you can swing anywhere in the range from 180 to 280K range, Penn Mill Lakes in the Lake Ramsey area does not suck. Nice little subdivision. Kind of far from shopping and amenities though, thus the need for two car family.......

In that case consider Bush or Folsom.

Abita Springs is also full. I wouldn't want to live there if I were you.

Built over here in Covington two years ago off of Bootlegger Rd. (Hwy 1085) between Hwy. 21 and Hwy 1077.
Absolutely love it! Everyone I know in my area sends their children to the Catholic/private schools. If you choose Madisonville or certain parts of Mandeville, then you would be in the Mandeville High School district which is the school district to be in. Mandeville High is an excellent school- A Rating.
Where are you moving from?

. That would be a great area for your commute. It just depends on what you want.

Like the others have mentioned, it all depends what price range you can afford. There are many options on the Northshore. If possible, stay north of I-12 because of flooding.

Perch,
We are selling a home in Money Hill. Would be an easy commute to Bogalusa. Let me know if you are interested. We love it here.

I think we’re scheduled to see a house there when we go and look.

I am interested
