there are a lot of new apartments that aren’t on campus that have been built. We usually go riding around when I go visit and he’s shown me. Maybe me saying they are crappy was wrong of me

Baw….i pass through Ruston routinely & I’m amazed at the new student housing/dorms Tech has built recently. The off-campus apartment complexes are really nice too. There’s even a gated student-centric neighborhood w/ nice little houses that’s very expensive to get into. I don’t know what part of town you’ve been through but it’s not by Tech. You should’ve seen the crappy old dorms (Nelson/caruthers) that I had to endure my freshmen year. The old ugly dorms are mostly gone now thankfully.

My daughter (no pics) is a Senior at Tech and lives in an apartment on Campus. They are pretty nice. She loves it over there and misses it when she has to come home on breaks.

The newer apartments in Ruston are all pretty nice. The only issue is many of them get them section 8 approved to make sure they don’t have vacancies. U fortunately I think this is the case in any college town with apartments. Most of the dorms have been built in the last 5 years or so.

Flood was the excuse, but I think someone realized the cluster frick of putting a Buc-ee's at that exit.

Sort of. EBR was trying to get them to pay for all kinds of infrastructure improvements in Millerville, most of which had nothing to do with Buccees. Then the flood happened and they took the out.

There is a housing boom happening in Ruston. Some parents of Tech students are buying or looking to buy houses as investment properties while their kids are at Tech.

I went to Tech and I barely recognized the campus. Ruston has really improved since I went to school there.

Yep. I will never how big a deal it was when we got a Wendy’s.

Tech was already modernizing, but after the tornado in 2018 did a good bit of damage to campus they have really ramped it up.
