I got some Sonoma chinos from Kohl’s this week. They’re fantastic.

Old Navy Athletic Tech 4.0 are basically Lululemon pants at 1/4 of the price. The Lulu gear is good, though.

I like J. Crew chinos.

Don't get the slim fit. It looks gay. At least get athletic tapered.

Slim fit (but NOT skinny) can look okay depending on where you get them (as I think you're suggesting with your opening question)... like these Levi's 511 slim fit jeans are modest enough for a guy with a lean build without looking weird like skinny jeans:

Aside from where you get them (different brands having different fits / cuts), build/physique is important. Lean builds tend to look better in slimmer cut jeans without too much extra cloth. Bulkier athletic and heavier builds may look better in different cuts.

JNCOS are really your best thread-per-dollar choice. Way above average for some sharp pants for the modern man.

What are some good pants!?

Birddogs. Buy one size up. No need to dry them. Wrinkle free. And can be worn to work, or casually.

Never been a big fan of Lee in the past (hate their tag) but their Extreme Motion line of pants, jeans and shorts are incredibly comfy and well made.

This is a wide open door. A bit of context would narrow the suggestions.
I used to work in suits, but when I retired, I decided to not wear them except for funerals or weddings.
I wore 511s for a while when working on a firing range because they were comfortable, durable and had convenient pockets.
I like heavy jeans from Dickey's, Carharts, Duluth Trading or even the Tractor Supply brands. Durable and not too expensive is my thinking.
I liked LL Bean and Land's End, but their sizing started to be inconsistent for casual wear.
However, Land's End chinos with the stretch waistband are still a great business casual option. I vary some equipment and this waistband is very well thought out for IWB.

I buy pants from Men’s Wearhouse to wear to work. They look decent and that way of a patient get something all over my pants. It won’t matter.

AG, Citizens of Humanity, J Varvatos, and Todd Snyder all make good jeans. Assuming you mean jeans when you refer to “pants.”
