There is an easy answer for this if you have the means to have surgery out of state.
LINK
His father invented a procedure that does not require healing by secondary intention. He will make it easy. Consult and surgery same day or next if you can send pictures.
This is a game changer.

Had this about 18 years ago. I keep my arse smooth as a baby’s butt now.

Not familiar. Is this something old people get?

Interesting, but I’ve never heard of anyone having long arse hair? Lol. So why does it grow long under the skin but not above the skin?

I had one when I was a freshman at LSU. It was very painful and a doctor lanced it. It happens to young guys. They told me it was a hair follicle that gets infected. The Dr told me it would probably come back and that i would need surgery. That was 50 years ago and it hasn’t come back. Thank God. I still remember the smell. I sat on a donut looking pillow for 4-5 days. He mentioned that it usually occurs when you hit your tailbone hard or ride in a rough vehicle. Truck drivers used to get it a lot. I have since always driven a easy riding vehicle. No Jeeps.

Not sure if you have seen a doc yet or not but surgery/procedure is not always required. Sometimes they just pop on their own. I had one and doctor gave me some pain meds and said hopefully it’ll pop before too long and we won’t have to do anything else. Set down one night and heard it go splat.
It was fairly gross but beat the hell out of the other option from the sounds of it

This is actually exactly what has happened. I saw a dermatologist and they gave some meds but it has drained on it’s on, but from reading it’s more than likely going to come back.

My sister had a parotidectomy.
They didn't break my jaw that I'm aware of. Did she get first bite syndrome as a side effect? I did. Feels like someone stabs me in the jaw joint with a needle every time I eat something tart, sweet, or salty. Good times. Good times.....

had one removed when i was 17. doctor gave me two options:
leave open after surgery- healing was 80%
stitch after surgery- healing was 50%
i chose the latter since i wanted to play baseball my senior year. if i'd have chosen the "open" option, the healing process would have cut into my season.
30 years later.......no issues

I had one removed about 12 years ago. I ignored it so long that I couldn't walk. Once I had surgery to have it removed the hole was so big that they couldn't stitch it. They had a home health nurse come to my house every day to pull the gauze out of it, clean it and repack it for almost two weeks, every day. I basically laid on the couch for two weeks on my chest because it was the only position I could get in that was comfortable. An hour before the nurse would show up I would take two vicodin and it still sucked to have to go through. If you have one, don't put off the surgery. Get it done.

At the time I got mine, this is what I was doing. What made me finally do something about it was a boat ride from Morgan city to atchafalaya bay in a flat bottom boat sitting on the floor of the boat all the way up the river. I couldn't walk by the time we got back to the truck.
