I currently have a 98 Suzuki that I bought brand new for $2300. It’s been awesome, but finally needs a new carburetor. The OEM carb is $600, so I figured I’d check out some new ones.

I wasn’t aware that they have become such luxury items.

Who is giving $7K+ for these toys?

Basically, everyone who buys a new one. They are a lot different than 22 years ago.

The salesman actually informed me of all the financing specials.

Maybe there are mechanical differences, but they are exactly the same functionally.
They take me to my deer stand and help me drag logs around my property.

I’m fairly certain some 4wheelers are 15k or so. Like a can am 1000 or some shite. Insane.

You can find the part number and look around online. Quality replacements would be way cheaper. I replace mine with a Mikuni(sp?) It was 1/4 what you were quoted.

Pretty much everyone. They have improved a lot since your last purchase and are always in demand. They don’t have to negotiate on price.

People are absolutely ignorant with their money. I at least have a good relationship with my local dealership and buy 2-3 new rangers every 6-7 years and they even deliver to the farm for me. You get treated right when you pay cash several times over a 20 year period.

Same. Had a 110 around 1981. I still like the 3 wheelers more than quads.

I’m buying a couple quads for my wife and my kid when we move in a few weeks but I’m not spending more than $4-5k. Getting a Honda TRX250 and a Rancher. Never in a million years thought I’d hear my wife ask for a 4 wheeler.

I bet you can find a knock off Chinese carb for much much cheaper. I’m still rocking my 93 Honda 300

With just inflation your $2300 ATV would be $3700.

If you account for drastic changes in design and improvements that have been made, they have to increase costs. Some of those are ridiculous in terms of “luxury” items, but most have a lot of bells and whistles that weren’t around in 1998.

And saying “functionally” it’s the same since it only gets you to/from a stand is just asinine. A mansion and a tent both “keep the rain off your head”.

Not me. If you pay cash you can grab a Honda Rancher for right at $5k. And it's still one of the most reliable ATVs out there.

That being said.... it's a sellers market in the ATV world. Not many discounts to be had due to inventory shortages
