Drove from Dallas to Fayetteville with my ex-wife once. Longest 5 hours of my life. Just blah blah blah...

I'm pretty sure Gulf Shores is more than "almost miles" from Chicago. Solid bet it is at least more than 2000 yards or so.

Auburn AL to Los Angeles, ended up being well over 2,500 miles one way due to detours, camped at National Parks/National Forests there and back.

Rental car companies hate me.

Longest non stop, Albuquerque to Huntsville AL, 1200 miles.

I was in Gulf Shores last week and met some college kids from Evansville, IN. They said it took them 10 hours to make the drive.
You think it'll take you 11 - 12?

That I've driven? Baton Rouge to Seattle. I've hitched rides on further, though.

Longest by mileage — Atlanta to Phoenix. brutal drive.

Longest by time - west coast from Seattle to San Diego, mostly down the PCH. I’d recommend to anyone.
