If someone illegally enters my house planning to commit any crime, I should be able to defend myself and my residence with lethal force against them

The neighborhood used to be safe for the folks who lived there. According to that report and comments, recently there have been burglaries of many homes as well as car breakins.
The man who is charged was asleep next to his wife until he was forced downstairs by the two perps.
The perp of the other race was seen trying to drag his buddy in crime into their nondescript white van, dropped him and drove off.
