This pisses me off. An example is ON creatine. I can get it about 25% cheaper on Amazon with same day shipping than I can get it in my local store. I ask if they price match and they say no. Okay motherfricker you’ve lost all revenue from me.

Local businesses inflating their margins and/or just terrible business practices don’t shame me into buying from them. If I can get the exact same item online at a greater value frick local business.

Everything should cost $2. Across the board.

AND you get very little in return in your own community in which you live in. It’s why the rich get richer, and you and your community remain in its condition, and will remain there as long as your masters are from out of state and squeeze you for all of your earnings.

I still pay the sales tax on Amazon so my community still gets theirs.

That’s not how it works. The jingle isn’t the wealth your community loses out on.

It's not about the taxes really. All of the revenue from the purchase goes to Amazon, which is outside of your community. If you're still stuck on sales tax, the sales tax your community gets is 25% less than what it would have gotten if you bought local. Not to mention income tax that the store owner would have paid, etc.

Yep, seeing this here. One local grocery Mom/Pop store shot up on everything. Used to shop there all the time due to the fact I know these people real good. Got to the point when eggs started selling at $3.99 a doz and a bread at $3.99, I said I will fight Walmart.

Local businesses typically have razor thin profit margins because they don’t have the massive bulk distribution deals that places like Amazon and Walmart have.

So if a local business matches that 25% they not only likely make no money it’s likely they actually lose money on the transaction.

Supporting local small businesses won’t get you the best deal but it keeps the money you spend in the community. That’s important to some people and it should be.

Does Amazon employ thousands of people in your community who then go and spend their money in your community?

I mean you are paying for convenience. If the store sells at Amazon prices they will go out of business
