However, this is my point, who exactly got to decide that some random fricking celebrity who shares my pigmentation gets to speak for me? Who decided that some loud mouth on Facebook gets to speak for me? Honest question, who decided this? I never gave permission. I can't be sure, but I'd be willing to bet millions upon millions of blacks would agree.

I've said the same thing for quite a while on this board. Eliminate the terms black community and white community. The existence of that idea breeds racism. I sure as hell don't let David Duke speak for me, so I see no reason to hold a random black man responsible for the musings of Van Jones.

Never heard of Alex before. Milian in TPC ain't too bad to look at.

The doc's office would just put the TV in Fox 54 I think and all the judge shows came on back to back.

Actually I don't care what some white person or celebrity says about the white community.

I agree with you for the most part but when more than 50% goes along with it (which it has IMO) then it becomes a reality

I'm trying to get my house in order, but this damn thread drew me in. Normally I avoid these things like the plague.

Since, I am laying it all out there as well then I hate the term African American as well. I'm an American and I am black. I was not born in Africa, I do not have duel citizenship, and I can't tell you much about the place minus some superficial information. Me and a co-worker were laughing at that notion just the other day.

At the end of the day do you know why I wanted Bush to succeed, why I wanted Obama to succeed, why I want Trump to succeed? It is because I want my country to succeed. However, there are a lot of people out there, on all sides, that have a strong interest in keeping confusion, animosity, and hatred flowing. Quite frankly it is good for business. Whether it be politicians, the media, or race-baiters of all colors.

Yea. I hate it when people get uncomfortable describing someone as black. It implies that there is something wrong with being black.

Yea....somehow that has leaked into the SJW thing. So it's ok to be called white, but not black. Not sure about the logic or reason. White people aren't really white unless albino any more than black people being actually black. I think that's someone trying to derive some power from being "offended".

I've never even thought twice about describing myself as anything but white or maybe Caucasian if I'm filing out a form.

Damn sure never told anyone I was European American.

Yeah, it's almost comical. I have a coworker who will literally whisper "black" when describing someone.

I mean, you can't just think an apology is going to make everyone say, "Oh, ok. No biggie" no matter what the scenario is.

Don't be racist out in public if you own a business, seems like a simple concept.

I read this as, "it's their fault he's racist"

IMO, people like Gary Chambers and Shaun King are deplorable because they cry wolf so often that it undermines the real issues that they do highlight at times. Gary's efforts to find racism when it isn't there clouds the effectiveness of the real racism problems he may discover. This thread is a perfect example. Most people agree that this guy is off his rocker and his comments deserve the backlash, but having Gary Chambers lead the charge puts a damper on the entire issue.

They don't cry wolf, they keep the spotlight on people, keep them accountable and try to make sure people live up THE the ideals we promote and say we live by.

Someone people are rather comfortable blaming all black issues on their fault.

Gary Chambers and Shaun King are outright race pimps. If a story comes across their feed and has the slightest bit of racial overtones, it is getting shared among all of their followers regardless of the validity of the story. That is their business model. They cease to be useful unless there are racial injustices they can find - whether or not they're real is largely irrelevant.
