Most efficient when full of business travelers. That is 100% consistent observation.

Having flown every other week for 16 years....
Back loading fills all of the overhead bins in the front because.....it's
1. Greyhound Bus crowd.
2. The class of a greyhound bus crowd.
3. The reason I always wore Kakis and a Golf Shirt with a Company emblem. If a First Class passenger is a "No Show" I get upgraded to escape from the heathen that typically haunt the lobby of the Greyhound bus station.
If only every plane was Business travelers or the greatest experience of a lifetime. Two male passengers and the rest of the plane were models from a convention in Dallas, headed to a swim suit competition in Tampa. You can't go wrong.

Get rid of carry-on bags, and boarding time cut in half.
This needs to happen. Nobody needs a bag that has to be stored above them. Carry on should be a purse or backpack that can fit under the seat. Get rid of the overhead bins. The plane would be full in 5 minutes.

The problem with that is … then nearly everyone must now check in at the airline counters before security. Those lines would turn into a nightmare.
It would be much worse than boarding time because nearly everyone will have to do it and show up extra early to make sure it’s checked in. That’s a line you don’t want to have to wait in because then everyone still needs to go through security afterward. You run the risk of missing your flight due to the long checkin lines.
That’s not worth trading for just to avoid the annoyance of the boarding process.

Yeah getting rid of carryons is retarded. I’d be willing to bet that the majority of airline passengers fly only with a carry on. I know I do it everytime I can get away with it.

frick that.
I'm 100% carry on. I would rather wait a little longer for the dumbasses getting on and off the plane than showing up earlier to check luggage and then also waiting for it in baggage claim. I also don't have to worry about lost luggage if it never leaves my side.

Also they should time each passenger putting the bag in overhead. If it takes you longer than 30 seconds, check that shite.
I only carry a small bag on board for miscellaneous crap. Everything else always gets checked. I haven't flown in several years, but I recall ticket price including 1 checked bag ad it only being about 25 pee extra checked bag provided that it was under a certain size and weight.
I have never waited more than probably 10 min to get a checked bag and it's so much more convenient traveling without lugging a bag around, especially if you have multiple layovers.

I don't have a huge issue with the boarding process... although I do think there needs to be a better way to deal with checked bags. Maybe the spots could be reserved or something, although I'm sure the airlines would just charge a "spot reservation fee".
However, the process of getting off the plane is a complete breakdown of American society.
It's not hard. Everyone sits down until the door opens. Then the two or so rows stand up, get their stuff, and as they get off the plane, the next couple of rows stand up, get their stuff, etc.
You could do like the carnival rides and your seat belt doesn't unlock until the FA does it.
Or treat it like communion at church. The flight attendant starts at the front of the plane, and when she walks past your row, that's when you get up and walk toward the front.
But no... everyone thinks they are more important than everyone else, or their connection is more important, so everyone jumps up and jams up the aisle.
Everyone would get off the airplane fast if there was an orderly procedure without bottlenecks.

With every experience involving missing bags ....we came up a solution. Carry at least two changes of underwear in your computer bag. Otherwise you can get four days out of the underwear you have on. Turn it inside out on day one. Reverse and wear them backwards on day two, then turn it inside out for day three and go commando on day four.
And to think we had sales meetings to dream up this sort of stuff.

Should board back to front.

Agreed, but if not, at least enforce the size limits for carry on luggage.

I have never understood this either.
It slows everything down.
As a first class passenger,
I would much rather not have everyone walk past me while I’m seated.
Plus, i would get off first when it lands

They used to tell us similar stuff when we were in the Scouts and were trying to minimize what we carried in our backpacking trips...

Or just buy a couple new pairs of underwear when you get to your destination like a civilized person. Geeze

Yeah but haven’t you heard that Australia is a cucked police state where commodes flow counter clockwise…. No one wants to do things their way
Posted on 3/27/22 at 5:30 pm to tigerfan in bamaland
That makes too much sense, and most US airlines are assholes!
Posted on 3/27/22 at 5:53 pm to Globetrotter747
Amen to that. I check a bag only after I have tried a shoe horn and sitting on my carry on. I want to show up in time to get thru security, walk to my gate, and hear my section called. When we land I want to GTFO of the airport. I will sit on a plane and wait happily if my other option is to have to show up early and then sit in baggage claim.
