Would it not be more efficient to load passengers on a plane starting in the back moving forward?

In Australia I experienced the plane being loaded from the front and back door, starting in the middle moving in opposite directions. Super quick.

Works great until first class and those with status get on the flight with no room for their bags.

What kind of plane were you on that had a back door?

Some of the larger ones have two doors toward the front, one for business and first class and another a littler further back for the poors.

First class overhead is typically reserved for those that sit there. Personally, I’d like to be last on, first off. The less time I’m trapped on an airplane the better.

Same reason we don't use the metric system...Murica

its the thing that makes us greater than everybody else and also makes us a bunch of assholes at the same time

All it takes is for one anxiety riddled douchetard to screw it up for all thinking that their seat is magically going to disappear or be taken by someone else when its assigned seating. I upgrade my seats everytime I fly because I'm tall and want to sit comfy - I'd be inclined to board last so that the 400 pounder going to the back doesn't rub their hip or arse fat on me as they're going by.

Also they should time each passenger putting the bag in overhead. If it takes you longer than 30 seconds, check that shite.

I had a United flight from Houston to Denver in December that disembarked using 2 doors (front and middle).

It had been a while since I had flown (before covid) but it made getting off the plane a whole lot faster.

I have no idea why airlines don't mark the baggage bins. You get the spot over your seat and that's it. I want to jump up and strangle the people I see who get on and toss their bag in the first available spot and then go sit in the back. Then the people in that front seat have to put their stuff behind them and on landing block the aisle and ask for people to hand their luggage forward. Put your shite over your seat

Delta did this during the dog days of Covid. First class and premium club members boarded first, followed by everyone else from back to front. It seemed more efficient.

That and people who immediately jump up and grab their shite and run to the front of the plane. Terrible etiquette.

I wouldn’t know what the back of a 777 looks like.

I think from the front to the back first.

People in the back drop their crap in the overheads at the front which ties up space for those front ticket holders. Would never happen the opposite way bc you’d have to wait for people to deboard before being able to get to the back to retrieve your bag

757s have a 2nd door further back from 1st class, but it’s not a “back door”.

I’ve suspected it’s a way to keep the poors completely separated from 1st class.

Get rid of carry-on bags, and boarding time cut in half.
