10-31-19 WBRZ: The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WBRZ, Perkins drove his enforcement unit to a rented cabin along Highway 6 on Toledo Bend and the unit was there when he was taken into custody. Perkins should not have driven the unit that far out of the parish, the sheriff’s office told WBRZ Thursday.
What does the State Auditors Office have to say about this???

It had gotten a little national press but enough salacious details haven’t been made public to really blow it up.
The contents of those videos get made public and/or evidence against the rest of the LPSO gets made public and it will be the subject of all the Nancy Grace type shows.

Nothing!!! Again, Ard does what he wants. When he wants. Go do look at the SRO tax Ard tried to pass. He told me personally on a phone call "We can do it my way or I won't do it!!"

In Louisiana? They probably have about as much actual power and authority as a town alderman.

You live in LP? What’s the general consensus among its residents regarding Ard?

He better check that attitude or his cell mate won’t be using lube first.

Damn.
That’s bold considering he is paid via the taxpayers of the Parish.

If you go to the Sheriff Jason Ard Livingston Parish Facebook page and read his VOMIT after the press conference and then read the comments.. he still has supporters. (NOTE: They have deleted all the bad comments under said post)
The average resident of the parish is scared too voice their opinion because they fear they will be targeted.
So, a recall election will not pass. People will not sign it because it is public record and you will be targeted.
No one will run against him because they do not want their dirty laundry aired.
I also believe had Ard's minions not had the CRAZY guy disqualified there would have been a SHOCKING number of votes for the CRAZY guy.
We are stuck with him, and I do NOT like it.

This is a story all too common in small towns, unfortunately.

Doesn't matter now. Taxpayers cannot do ANYTHING if no one runs against him.
People don't realize. This is SCARY.

That defense may work. Especially in small town Louisiana. We’ll have to wait and see to what level her involvement is based off the evidence collected against her.

They'll respond when they get back from their fishing trip

I don’t live in Louisiana so I probably don’t fully understand how it works down there but in Mississippi the state auditors office has authority to investigate any improprieties that involve tax funds. And they hammer frickers left and right over here for things such as that

That’s what I was trying to say earlier in the thread. Nobody is getting enough signatures to recall a sheriff. His next 4 year term(just re-elected in October) doesn’t start until 7/1/20 so he’ll be there until 2024 unless he resigns. The only way that happens is if there are actual charges and he resigns to avoid jail time.
In 4 years this will be a distant memory and he’ll probably be re elected

Or he will go unopposed.

He will continue to be the sheriff until he doesn’t want to be anymore. Period.
I also live in LP and everyone I’ve talked to about it is sickended by the situation and think the sheriff did himself no favors at his press conference. As far as forcing a resignation, I think they could take him or leave him. Every one in this parish knows how things go. It is what it will always be.
I have found that most everyone i have talked to about it thinks Ard and Perkins was boys tho (as do I)
