Do they put the kids on the stand?
That would be awful for the kids and family members that are involved in the case.

Maybe I’m dense, but how is the school board liable for something they didn’t know about?

it's almost a 0% chance this goes to trial
and if it does, they probably don't have to if they have video evidence

And I am wondering, in conjunction to this, whether Ard is a potential target in the investigation.
This is the second child molestation / rape case involving his guys in the last few years.
There has been too much smoke and red flags around Jason Ard for years now. Livingston voters would be well advised to vote him out next election if he doesn't get arrested at some point in the next few years.

What kind of deal do you offer someone who is so clearly guilty?
If the sentence for the rape charges is mandatory LWOP, what advantage is it for them to plead guilty?

classic Louisiana political commentary

imagine being so into something that basically every time you log on to get your fix, you're running the risk of completely fricking up your entire life.

Old Louisiana political joke-
“What’s more Louisiana than a politician under investigation?
One under indictment.”

well it all depends on the politics and prosecutorial issues, but i will say this.
confessions these days aren't usually due to threats/force. typically LEO gets people to confess after becoming their friend and offering it as a release. same psychology can turn into pleas for these extreme things

I'll defer to the lawyers here..but maybe to keep him out of general pop where he will almost assuredly be murdered. Crooked cop and a pedo? Gooooood luck

Sounds like it may work on the missus but not on Lt Baw, who would have been on the other end of this before.

I don't think that's the case. I can't speak for the policy of the middle school, but at least at the elementary school, parents are definitely allowed to bring outside treats to their child's class on their birthday. If this horrendous rumor ends up being true, I'd think that policy may change parish wide.

all of these bedroom community sheriffs are basically lords of the realm...ard, cazes, lee, strain, edwards et al. they control the purse and the hammer.
they get elected for life and can do whatever the frick they want

My Girlfriends friend works for the LPSO, and last night she called talking about this. Apparently, the couple set up cameras all over there house and had all of their "interactions" with the adopted kids filmed. Stuff you don't want to hear, like an 8 year old boy sucking the man off. Also they have evidence of the man nutting in/on cupcakes that the Teacher brought to her students.
Didn't Ard also have a situation a few years back where his vehicle, and CC and service weapon, were stolen by a tranny whore who somehow had his keys?

quote:I imagine that Louisiana is like most everywhere else with the whole adoption process: inspecting the potential parents inside and out. My parents were both school officials and had active background checks ongoing as a result, were/are respected members of the community. Hell, the judge who authorized the adoption was babysat by my mother when he was a kid. They passed with flying colors, but it was still an arduous process.
the whole adoption angle is potentially incredibly unsettling. if these are former foster kids who were adopted? holy shite
A sheriff's LT and a long-tenured school teacher would have likely passed the screening just as easily. Hell, that's the kind of couple society hopes would adopt kids.
But, if they find out that family services failed to look at all the evidence, ignored tips about their conduct, didn't do follow-up interviews with the kids periodically, this hole could get a lot, lot deeper.

That is a new one on me.
I’m familiar with this one and the other deputy who got busted for child molestation. Said deputy had been out stumping for Ard’s re-election and been claimed as a close friend before the bust.

something is rotten in Denmark Springs
It's been that way for a VERY long time. The white flight out of Baton Rouge has just mixed a few decent people into the population.
Port Allen has also been the same way for years.

The adoption was with the previous husband, not Lt Baw.
Most accounts say there is no one looking at the kids’ adopted dad and he is supposed to be on the up and up.

I remember this now.
It happened while he was eating a fancy dinner at Ruffino's on Highland with some VIPs.
The truck was a big ole F250 registered to the Sheriff's Office.
I thought that whole incident was fishy at the time and it's even more fishy now.
