Kansas isn’t that bad. I’ve lived in the Wichita area for the last 20 years. It’s a good place to raise a family. As others have said, it’s not a huge metropolis or anything. We’re in the middle of everything though. KC is a few hours away. OKC is 2 hours away. Denver, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, St.Louis, and Albuquerque are all close enough to make a drive in a day. Plenty of restaurants around and good craft beer in town.

What would it be like to live in the most rural areas? Where they say is “out in the middle of no where”?
Like it is in every state - just that Kansas has more rural-ness to offer. You can find a piece of land in almost any county that is miles from a town. And there aren't any big towns except for Wichita, the Johnson County cities, and KCK. You just do a lot of online shopping and make your trips to the grocery store count. Lawrence, I think, is at 100,000 in population. Manhattan is at 50,000 or so. The Dodge and Gardens of the world are around 30,000. Most everywhere else is under 10,000.

Did you get a ton of tornadoes where you live?
There's always the chance for severe weather wherever you live in Kansas. 3 touched down in or near Wamego in 2016.

I've been in two tornadoes in my life, both when I lived just NW of Wichita. Been close to several others. If you are moving to Kansas just make sure your house has a basement.

I lived in Olathe for 2 years as a kid and I really liked living there.
Have no idea what it's like as an adult, but NE Kansas has everything every other metropolis has
