It seems like this may well be evened out by the traumatic experience you intentionally created for the opposing catcher. You probably could have saved a kid from the gangs without sending another kid home crying. There's nothing wrong with playing more fundamentally and strategically sound baseball and giving the kids a better chance to win, but there's no reason to continue stealing bases when you're up so much they're about to call the game anyway. It's not like you're playing for the polls.

She also continued on saying that her son (who is extremely small and impoverished) never had anything good ever happen to him and was thinking about joining the Barrio Aztecas in order to gain some sort of acceptance. A local travel team has asked me to coach their team and offered to pay me $40 a game as the catching and hitting coach. I am moving soon so I told them I would volunteer my time because I like helping kids be successful.

Every team out there at that age steals 2nd and 3rd right away unless the runner is 85lbs overweight, then they just go on the first passed ball, which is pretty much right away also.
