Lol it wasn't so bad when they were under the age of 10 or so. Now they know what all of this shite means and it's so uncomfortable. They don't give a damn though...they keep singing along even if their mom is in the car

It may make for an awkward car ride, but if they are young teens, then they are probably listening to worse stuff than that on their own. I was bumping 504 boys by 4th grade.

I'm a little older than you. I was listening to late 80's hip hop and early 90's rap at that age. But still, most of those songs weren't played on the radio. The ones that were, were heavily edited. Early Cash Money radio edits sounded like an episode of looney tunes with all the generic beeps and honks put in the place of the bad words.

The first time I listened to Too Short it made me realize how sheltered my childhood had been

Yes.

Trying to be "fun dad" at times by letting them listen to what they want on road trips. I could be a dick and make them listen to russillo and kanell podcasts but with teenage boys you gotta give a little to keep the relationship intact. At least that's the way it is in my current situation

Sat Radio. Get into some old 80s and 90s rock/alternative/hip-hop stuff and you're good. My kids are going to be very knowledgeable about some cool tunes.

You have bigger problems if that's how you measure yourself as a parent.

XM 77 I think. Kids bop. Grand son is 8 and loves it. We also had the DVD headrest installed, which my four grandson likes ... paw patrol on patrol

I'd say NPR but that can get uncomfortable too.

I didn't either. Until about 30 seconds ago.

Any of you baws find it impossible to listen to the radio with kids these days? Just about every song has something really inappropriate. I have two young teen boys...it seems as though every other song on the radio is either The Weeknd talking about "heat between your legs" or Nikki Minaj saying something really nasty. Makes for an uncomfortable time, even worse than the erectile dysfunction commercials during football games.

You realize there's more to radio than top 40, right?

I have a couple of 5 year olds, and it's not that difficult, much less teens.

My current issue is that Missio song called Middle Fingers. I like it, so I don't want to change it when it's on, I tried to tell my boys they're saying "Little Fingers" but...they can read the screen on the car, so that didn't work .

I know how to find things that aren't graphic to listen to. Just pointing out that most things that are popular to teenagers contain a lot of inappropriate stuff.
