Why are you playing ads and asking for money?

They said “listener supported”. They didn’t say how much

Because without ads they wouldn’t get very much “listener support”

Does someone really need to explain to you about multiple revenue streams?

The terrible music aside....the monthly pledge drives were the reason I stopped listening to this station.

And then when they do start dropping "ads", they call it "program underwriters" to not call them what they are....

"Thanks for Billy Bob's ButtPlugs for underwriting that last 3 song block of hits. Now, here's MercyMe!"

KBRH in BR rocks, no commercials and ask for money twice a year.

I started to make a retort about asking for donations being a revenue stream, but hell, with things like gofundme today it would be totally moot.

The amount of non-listener support is absurd. Direct gov't handouts, co-staffing with local educational institutions, "donations" from local businesses that sell to "thinking people"...

Ever since Car Talk went off the air, it's been 24 hours of whiny liberal complaints.

Because they are funded by listener donations

Because they don't have the amount of listeners to attract big money advertisers?

Either way, are they forcing you to donate to them? Why does wikipedia ask for donations every year?

I'm pretty sure I heard this exact shout out on KPFT in Houston one time.

GOAT.
It’s impossible to have a bad day when jamming this station.
Also sounds incredible with my suitcase 8” sub in the back.
