That's cool. Reminds me of a friend of mine that has a family Bible that each generation writes in as their family expands and passes it down. Goes back two or three hundred years.
When you have that sort of common thread it becomes easier to know your history.

They weren't invaded, they were simply bombed. There needs to be a ground force that takes the land from them. Operation Downfall was the planned invasion of Japan if the nuclear bombings didn't go according to plan, and invading Japan is a logistical nightmare.

You are taking things to literal.
The invasion of Japan was set, with the Atomic bombs leading the way. After the bombs though Japan surrendered before the invasion with land forces.
We killed over 200,000 Japanese with those 2 bombs, roughly 200,000 Germans died during D-Day and 200,000 Allies. Our atomic bombs invasion saved many lives and decimated an empire.
At that point the Allies went in Occupation mode and the USA still has military bases there to this day.
I would say we invaded Japan and made them the country they are today through our occupation and military presence there.

Well, they willingly gave over to our demands, and we had to spare one of the worst people who ever lived Hirohito when he and his entire family should have been handed over to the Chinese to have their way with them.

Well you’re wrong. It’s called the Doolittle Raid, not the Doolittle Invasion. Words mean something. Google "Invasion of Japan" and you will only see planned invasions or failed ones.
