Yea, it'd be better for the city if they would try to make more of an effort up there. Not so one sided.
The city has nothing to do with it past approving permits and zoning. It's about green, not black and white.
Why would anyone want to invest money into a business in NBR? That area is totally lost and never coming back save a mass exodus of its current residents.

I don't know if it's them, but there is 100% a coffee shop opening up across from Twine/radio bar area.
Also... anybody know what's up with that Marinas yet at hoo shoo too? Drove through the lot and that sign saying now hiring has been there for months now, not counting the fact that they started on it prior too the flood. Place has tables, hostess stand and menus everywhere inside. Had a sign for alcohol permit as well.
I live in that area and need a New Mexican place to grab a Rita from since Agave Blue has gone to shite.

They pillage the few businesses that dare open in NBR. Hell, even Dollar General balked at the idea of opening new stores up there.

Did you not read the Rouses thread on here from a few days ago? It's no longer the store it once was according to this board.

I've found them to be very inconsistent. The one on Drusilla sucks. I found the store at Juban Crossing to be nice pre-flood. I don't make it out that way often.

Ok, so lots of conflicting answers in here. What's coming at Lee and Burbank?
Started reading on pg 1, told my wife a TJ Maxx was coming, got to pg 7, told her well maybe not, now she's threatening to smother me in my sleep tonight if I lied to her.

Not sure exactly, but I do believe it will take place before the end of this year (based upon conversations a while back).

Not sure where OP got his info.
I spoke directly with the agent that is representing Lee at Burbank development.
It's quite possible that many have backed away.

I believe they would clean up here in Louisiana. I always enjoyed going to HEB in Corpus Christi, McAllen, San Antonio, Austin and Waco.
