Y'all are some lying mofos if you say you don't sing along when this comes on the radio.
But then again if no one is there to see you singing, did it really happen?

In country music musicians play instruments. They don't karaoke along to a computer beat.
Did you put your life on pause in the late 90s and forgot to hit play?

I felt really old when I found Trent reznor did the music
Posted on 7/13/19 at 7:29 am to dagrippa
Reznor put out an instrumental album in 2008 called Ghosts.
It was his prelude to his film scoring debut.
Some teenager in Iceland sampled one of the songs to make a hip hop beat and put it up for sale on a DJ website.
Nas X bought it and wrote Old town road over it.
And THAT is how Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails got credited with writing his first billboard #1 hit in his career.
Let that sink in

ouch.... of course, everyone will argue it down to not include it as "country", but man, that's gotta sting for the country crowd... you just know there are some baws out there who's head is gonna fricking explode if it does become the record holder...

The song is bad, makes no sense, is not clever at all, it’s extremely dim witted, sung by a gay black guy and other than mentioning a cowboy hat it has nothing to do with country music. It’s indicative of our apologistic society though, unfortunately.

Question from an old white guy:
What exactly is meant by “You can’t tell me nothing?”
I have some ideas, but wanted to hear from the OT cultural experts.

I’ll ask it this way:
Regarding, ‘You can’t tell me nothing’...
Is it a boast or a lament?

What even is country music nowadays though?
Jason Isbell and Tyler Childers would be a good place for you to start.
