You leave it in and then 10 years later you spend an NFL playoff Saturday at 3 different birthday parties.
They’ll be another NFL Season next year and the next year and the next year.

Soon there won’t be a season for you going to Birthday parties with your youngins.

I’m envious.

The most sad dreams I have are:

a) ones with now deceased family/friends in them

followed closely behind by

b) one’s whet my kids are young in them

I never dream about NFL playoff games.

I used to be a pretty avid sports fan. Outside of LSU football I hardly watch any sports these days. Maybe the Super Bowl.

Same here. My jags have sucked so long that NFl was an after thought to LSU football. Then Burrow and Chase went to Cincy now i watch NFL. Oh yeah and the jags are actually getting better finally

The OP says a lot about what's wrong with society. You should enjoy raising your children and spending time with them. Only a POS father would rather watch millionaire athletes that hate you over spending time with their children.

It's certainly not due to young kids in my case. I watched more sports when they were young.

Pretty sure my parents and friend’s parents had it arranged to where the host just got a bunch of kids dumped on them for a few hours and the attendee’s parents were set free for a few hours. So my parents had to eat shite once a year but got to ship me out numerous times. I can not recall, especially when I was 10 years old, multiple parties in a day that had 40 moms and dads at. You parents these days are just doing it wrong

I was just thinking this. Unless it was family my mom would just drop us off. And my dad probably wouldn’t even know about it much less be there.

Oh for gods sake. You act like he’s complaining about having to go hear their valedictorian speech or something. Every parent knows that having to go to other kids birthday parties sucks. You stand around and force small talk with other dads who you may or may not have met once or twice while you eat fruit and cookies off a dinosaur plate.

To the OP, at least there will be something to keep up with so you won’t be bored out of your mind.

Yeah the more I think about it being 10 year olds the wilder this sounds to me. Something ain’t right. Y’all gonna make those kids weird, back up some. Don’t forget their helmets and knee pads for the slip n slide

Me either. I remember people having birthday parties at McDonalds or Fun Fair Park when I was like 5-6 years old. Usually by 10 yrs old it was just having a few friends sleep over and cake and ice cream.

if it helps make it any better, today my 16 year old is going to take his younger brother and a friend to the local DIII basketball game and their mother and I are going to a movie free and uninhibited on a saturday afternoon.

when we get home, the boys and I are making wood fired pizzas and then going to watch NFL while i drink for 3 hours straight.

tough at the younger ages, but there's some payoff in having a day where you spend time together but the kids get to go out and do their own thing and then come back to hang with you and have an evening of hoping the eagles lose together.

most of our birthday parties, the hostee dad was required to provide beer and if i didn't know (or like) any of the dads there I was allowed to drop them off.

not when the kids were 0-5 or anything but as they got closer to 10, there was usually beer.

You can trace it to one time? More likely it’s someone else’s kid and you got stuck with the bag

Worry less about watching other grown men play a game, and go play a game with your kids.
