My son is gonna be cutting grass all summer because he doesn't want to work inside. I doubt he would ever want to be a lifeguard though.

lifeguard can be a risky position if something happens and you get sued
I would read through any paperwork regarding liability before signing up to lifeguard anywhere

I'd never let my teenage daughter work there as a lifeguard. frick that. Too much bullshite and too many threats to deal with. I'd rather put her on my payroll for the summer. Those folks need to learn how to swim and behave first.

They were paying $14 back in 2016, if it’s still at $14, there’s your problem. That should be $18-$20 an hour. It’s only like 5-6 hour shifts 3x a week.

How many lifeguards at once do CCLA and Bocage require? Because I know blue bayou required 2 per water ride.

I have no idea about liberty lagoon.

Babysitters are getting $20/hr cash money. They won’t get lifeguards for less than that.

that what we pay our dogsitter when we leave town...easiest job in the world. why any teenager would choose to have to deal with BR's finest youth scholars instead, unsupervised at a water park, is just ludicrous to consider.

chickens coming home to roost i guess.
maybe there will be some self-reflection here but i doubt it

They don’t know what they’re missing. I was a lifeguard at a water park in high school. Easiest job I ever had, plus young, quality poon without limit and a great summer-long tan done by the first week.

Years ago, I was a lifeguard at Cherokee Beach on the Tangipohia River. At the time, it was an awesome place to go tubing - especially this time of year. The last day of school for summer, you would see large groups of high school kids from all over the state coming in to tube down the river.

We would have 5-6 lifeguards on the weekends and there was not a dull moment. The Red Cross has a list of ten key conditions that make an area unsafe for swimming. We all 10 conditions and more:
controlled access, bottom conditions and depth, visibility, diving and elevated entry, water temperature, water quality, moving water, weather, life jacket use, and hazard identification and elimination - - and drunk tubers.

Those were some fun summers!

Sounds like a great opportunity. And I’m not talking about the chance to be a lifeguard.

Liberty Lagoon is a BREC facility located between Independence/Government Street and Florida Boulevard and caters to the local clientele. If that's what you're into.

Socialist Swamp, Conservative Cove and Independent Inlet have sucked up all the local lifeguards.

They brought in Aggies to help with this task.
