Liberty High School students learned Tuesday that Principal Rob Howle is being replaced and that a search will begin soon for his successor.

quote:

Howle was placed on leave on Oct. 15 from the Baton Rouge high school after a text message surfaced that Howle sent to to a fellow of employee of the school that suggested potential repercussions for football players who fail to stand for the national anthem. The national anthem has been a flashpoint nationwide since football player Colin Kaepernick kneeled during a 2016 playing of the anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice.

You have to be somewhat mixed on it. He said he would punish kids for kneeling during the anthem, which is sort of a right.

Is he a good principal? If so, he didn't need to be there anyway. Schools like this only get shitty principals.

When I taught in the ghetto of EBR about 6 years ago, I made all of my 4th graders stand 4 times until they all said the pledge. I’d be fired for that now. Oops.

Yeah...don't think he can do that at a public school.

ETA nevermind. I misread the OP. He shouldn't be fired for that. The though police is out of control.

Is that really the hill that principal wanted to die on? If so, he’s too stupid to be leading a high school.

Never thought I’d see respect for the nation as counter culture and “a hill to die on”

Pretty sad how far we’ve fallen.
