This is starting to look like the class of 2021 will be hurt more than the class of 2020. I didn't think it would be possible but atleast the class of 2020 had hope that things could restart.

The class of 2021 is being told up front nothing you have looked forward will happen. No Homecoming, No Prom, no team sports.

Good Job JBE!!!..

I hope this brings about MAJOR changes to this terrible state.

Absolutely. Mine was supposed to have her ring ceremony May 8 2020 but that never happened and I doubt they will do it for them. I’m guessing they will just get their rings at school. Nothing special. I have talked up senior year so much to my daughter because it is special and it’s a ton of memories to make and it’s all getting ruined before it even started.

why can't football even scrimmage but basketball and wrestling can?

Why can football practice in phase 3 but no intrasquad scrimmage? There is literally no difference other than you keep score

That’s heartbreaking to even think about. My son will be a Junior and it kills me to think all that he’s already missed out on these past 4 months and will miss out on this fall.

I can’t imagine having a Senior that just graduated or incoming Senior.

It’s just awful

If an LHSAA season “hasn’t begun” can the kids play outside organizations? There may be some opportunities to basically set up “travel teams.” Just call your team “Bears” instead of Catholic High.

Too much expense for football but basketball, baseball, and soccer could do it.

You know a lot of people would step up to sponsor.

That chart makes no fricking sense.

Volleyball is ok but Basketball is not?
Im not trying to be a SJW about it, but I think it’s pretty clear why volleyball would be allowed before basketball.

I have an incoming senior. He is a baseball player and attends every football game home and away. The school has pride. Hes not crushed but he is pissed. He figures baseball will be next. I understand why they are doing it but I dont like it.

I don't see why not. That's the structure of youth sports just about everywhere else in the world. Only in the US are competitive sports largely school-sponsored.

Come back in a month when the whole country, including a bunch of republican governors, do the same thing.

Is there any state in the county currently in phase 3, much less, phase 4?

Looks like cross country is about to get real popular. Overdue, IMO.

I'd think basketball/football coaches would encourage XCountry for their athletes as a way to keep them conditioned while they aren't playing FB/BB.

Football players do track and field. More explosive.

Smaller guys sprint.
Linemen throw stuff

If my kid was Division I caliber and getting offers I’d be looking to move out of state ASAP. Some state somewhere is playing this fall and I’d make damn sure they were playing

Have to have insurance and places to practice and play. It's a logistics nightmare. The schools should have seen this coming and had plans already in place.

Lol because Eddie Ripsone would have handled this so much better. If you want a competent government, get the frick out of Louisiana.
