How do you handle it?

Move on and lean on other friends?
Try to make things right?
Just say "frick it?"

Let's say you've had a pretty heated argument with a friend that you won't see eye to eye on. How do you handle it from there? When both parties have said shite they normally would not have said.

With the exception of your 2 or 3 lifelong best friends - friends are seasonal. Who cares and move on.

I’d go the other way around. Family isn’t earned, friends are a true gift. I can count my true friends on one hand

from title I was expecting to read that a friend died. Since youve only had an argument with your friend just take a day and think about how much more serious it would be if you had actually lost that friend…. then reach back out and fix whatever it is (or if you wouldnt care if you lost that friend, dont)

Outside of just moving on with life, I haven’t really dealt with that. At 43 I’ve only had 3 best friends and all 3 were before I turned 18. I only have contact with one, and that’s because his mother is my immediate neighbor. We don’t have much in common anymore, but for the last several years we don’t worry about that, and usually around July 4th just have a good time.

Are you actually friends, or are you really just friendly acquaintances?

Most people don’t recognize that there is a difference.

Anyone that's not blood related to me that is a "friend" is now at this point FAMILY because I don't make new ones IRL...

Lost a close and long term friend of 35 years last November.

She has turned so bitter and hateful to everyone. She has lost or totally cut off almost all of her friends. She got very hateful with me while having lunch at a restaurant.

I stood up and said, "I'm leaving."
She looked at me and said, "Ciao.'

I then walked out. We have have had no communication since.

If you want to stay friends buy them a beer, put that shite behind you, and yall move the frick on. If you can't move passed it, probably time you go separate ways.

As you get older you naturally lose friends. Your interests change and you drift apart. I realized a while back there are people I was once very close to that I probably won't ever see again, and that the thought didn't really bother me.

Truth.

I enjoy my solitude more and more as I age...

There is nothing like some good ole peace n quiet...

Some folks need companionship to thrive, and others prefer their own company / I know folks that can't stand their own company - sad
