Seems like war is at our footsteps with China. What led us to this inevitable outcome with countries like China and Russia? What could have been done differently in the past that could have changed the course of history?

Common sense foreign policy would dictate that we should have placated at least one out of China and Russia like Trump efforted instead of excoriating them both as the current administration has done. Our inability/unwillingness to play the "enemy of our enemy is our friend" game combined with the very real weakness/embarrassment of the current administration on the world stage has put us in this current pickle with Russia and China. Hopefully it's not too late to turn things around diplomatically. This is going downhill fast, though.

China isn’t going to go to war with their biggest customer and Russia doesn’t want any part of a war with NATO. It ain’t happening.
