In reality, this will make those white kids work even harder to achieve their goals thus widening the gap even further. Crazy how this works isn’t it. You can’t vote yourself out of poverty while enjoying the benefits of it.

I wouldn’t be calling other people idiots when your daughter is working for a school that is actively discriminating against high achieving kids, potentially ruining their future opportunities.

I posted “working for a school”, that could mean a teacher, administrator, janitor, etc. If your daughter is a teacher, maybe she should gather up her teaching comrades to demand accountability from the administration and teacher’s union. I bet (judging by your statements in this thread) that she was raised to just sit back, make excuses, and point fingers. They weren’t withheld, they were given much later than normal so the students that didn’t get awards wouldn’t feel less adequate. The problem is students that won had already applied for colleges and weren’t able to include the awards on their application.
