Lets just get it out of the way right now

Yes I am socially liberal to an extent.. fiscally conservative to the core. But being gay and a Southerner, I fully am proud to be a gun owner and in the case of guns and shootings here is where I stand: For me automatic and semiautomatic weapons for me should be banned. That is my opinion. I also do feel that background checks are good. As for gun registration.. I'm split on it. Half of me hates the government knowing what I have and the other half of me understands why it helps law enforcement to solve crimes faster. But in many (not all) cases of these mass shootings, this is a situation which is only going to continue to worsen until this country wakes the flying f*** up and deals with mental health once and for all and stops acting like its something that must be swept under the damn rug. This shooting for me (from the info I have heard so far) has very little to do about gun control and more to do about mental health.
