Shameless self promotion. Let me handle the linking, and you just cut me a share of the profits.

I can do a couple pennies. Which honestly, didnt expect to be at break even so soon. Especially needing to move hosting to get ads up. Squarespace wants an absurd monthly total to run javascript.

RTR, I know you'll like it, and others, too.

This is a relatively new site/project that has done a really good job. They have taken on the task of documenting all tornadoes that they possibly can, and it is searchable with a map. They've even done pre-1950.

I think I remember saying that it wouldn't take long because I thought there was a market/niche there. It also doesn't hurt that we have more interest in the weather now than ever, but the access to an overwhelming amount of info mucks things up. You found a good spot.

Your blog reminds me of a similar site called Storm Hamster. Same guy went by @crankywxguy on the twatters.

He was based in the northeast, but expanded to cover and comment on interesting events around the county.

A genius at climatology and how it would affect short-term setups.

Not sure what happened to that dude (he stopped posting a few months ago), but I really enjoyed his content.

For you North AL folks:

@NWSHuntsville
quote:

Thinking ahead: Take the time Today to prepare for widespread wind damage & a few tornadoes possible tomorrow.
Storms may produce gusts up to 70-80mph
Wind Advisory for non-convective gusts ~40mph
Power outages are possible even ahead of the line of storms

Between it and Tornado Talk you have all you need to research just about any tornado or event in the US.

I was with you. Got practice in comms on here and I knew some of yall would be reading. Still expected some time to get traction. The traffic off twitter is low but slowly growing, for example.

What I didnt realize is how many lurkers read here. Post the link here and I get hundreds of hits.

This place has a reach that is really hard to comprehend. I also don't think we realize how many people follow these weather threads. I know I did back before I even had an account. An April 27 anniversary thread got me to finally post.

Do you post these blog entries on a twitter account?

I'd love to follow it, if it's not something you'd rather keep personal.

Is today's wind related to what's coming tomorrow?

Just let the dog out and it's pretty windy down here in Da Parish.

Wife and kids are freaking out about tomorrow night.

Yes, we're starting to get a mass response (air moving toward the low pressure) as the low is developing off the Rockies. Itll slowly build a little through the day.

Im sure, especially after last week. This time of year is awesome in Louisiana but I also could do without the weekly severe weather rounds.
