Didn't read through the thread but this article states only from 0-28 days. I just recently had a son and the rotating pediatrician refusing to do the circumcision and there was no urologist.

After going home and meeting our pediatrician he basically said most drs refuse to do it in hospital after child birth because lack of insurance reimbursment. It's becoming less common for pediatricians to do it and you need to go to a urologist.

That’s so weird. When my son was born 11 years ago they just told us we had to pay for it out of pocket. It was $200. And they did it before we left.

A gal raised in Paris came to Lake Chuck 35 years ago and LOVED her first non anteater. She couldn't believe how much more it pleased her.

Circumcision is healthier and massively reduces penile issues later in life

Essentially reduces penile cancer risk to zero. That alone would be enough for me to say “I consent.”

Also, lower risk of UTIs (and sepsis), less likely to contract HPV and HIV, less likely to give STDs to one’s partner, and female partners of circumcised men have lower rates of cervical cancer.

I would not have consented to prophylactic mastectomy to reduce my breast cancer risk to essentially zero and there is a higher rate of breast cancers than penile cancer.

What I find funny about the circumcision debate is the "I am glad it was done to me for the medical benefits" when most of us know that the preference for it is aesthetics. IMO the men who own it and say, "I am glad it was done to me because I like the way I look" are being more truthful. Cut penises look better than natural ones to most American men for some reason. Is it all the porn watching or just what became normal?

It's weird to me that men care this much about what other men's penises look like and get all touchy when a few of the women who frequent this board express their opinions about it.

As a woman I don't have a preference. Both types work for me but as a mom I hated taking that decision away from my infant son, same as when I let my daughter decide when to pierce her ears when she was older.

Millennials & Gen Z all over the internet: “why did my parents make this decision for me? I wanted a choice on my foreskin! I won’t be cruel to my children like that!”

Gen Alpha: “you could have had my useless foreskin cut off of me when I wouldn’t have felt it or remembered it, and you thought you were being kind???”

WTF? I guess I haven't kept up with the circumcision trends, but why would someone not get their kid circumcised?

It is Jewish / Muslim tradition. If you are not of either one of those persuasions, then why do it?

Looking at the data, it appears that roughly 80% of males are uncircumcised if you exclude Jews, Muslims and Americans.

Probably because we grew up the way we were, so it looks normal to us. (Circumcised)

I just looked it up based on this thread, and that's what I saw as well.

Also this:
quote:

Evidence:

While there are clear health benefits, the American Academy of Pediatrics states they are not significant enough to recommend routine circumcision for all male newborns.

And anyone comparing circumcision to a mastectomy is just foolish.

Not what the article says. Less than half of boys born in 2022 were circumcised within 28 days of birth.

For "less than half" of all US boys to be uncircumcised, these numbers would need to persist for about another decade.
