This. They are trying to make a living and get home. They have a right to pass slow traffic also. I always let them over if they need to pass. They are better than cars at getting back over after the pass. Cars just clog the left lane.

It's gonna get worse next summer when FmCSA mandates speed limiters on all commercial trucks. Will be snail drag races as far as the eye can see. The truck going 65 will be passing the truck going 64.8.

Well so is speeding, the left lane isn't for speeding it's for passing so all you law abiding citizens need to stay out of the left lane unless your passing someone going below the speed limit because God forbid you break the law you hypocrite

I'm a truck driver, own my own rig, no speed limiter. I use the left lane alot but I'm usually 5-10 over the speed limit and still have assholes flashing lights at me, frick you, I'm passing slow the frick down

I’ve noticed it getting worse but thought maybe it was my imagination. It’s an awful problem on I-12 between Covington and Walker.

So if your truck is governed to 65, don’t try to pass a truck going 62 (unless there are NO cars around).

Yup, a few weeks ago I was coming back from Hammond, and passing some big rigs in the very left lane - well one sped up, cut me off and I guess his buddy (from the same company) pulled along my right side - so they boxed me in and ran me off the road
My kids got their tag numbers and I called the police (
) and the company. The dispatcher at the company pretended to not speak English when I called, so I switched to Spanish (like her) and she hung up. Not really seeing the point of all that especially since it’s 3 lanes right there and I was passing them at 75/80 max.
ETA: the dispatcher called me back about ten minutes after she hung up and said I was driving too slow in the left lane - the driver had sent his dashcam footage to her. I told her - he isn’t supposed to be in the left lane and what is he doing sending you footage while he drives?? She hung up again.

Back in the awful days of Jimmy Carter's nationwide 55 mph order, I briefly drove an Mack 18 wheeler mail truck along the interstate.
The tractor was programmed to not go over 55 mph ao I had a broom stick jammed between the seat and accelerator pedal just to keep a constant 55 mph. Bullpushers would pass me like I was sitting still but the occasional other slow driver might catch up with me and we could go for miles side by side, neither of us backing off.
Fortunately it was in the dead of the night and didn't cause that much consternation along the interstate.
The amount of traffic has to have quadrupled over the years and maybe, just maybe, we need a few more lanes on the highway instead of funding the Russia/Ukraine war.

This! I despise these fricks. They cause more wrecks cuz peeps are trying to get around them. LA needs to pass a law making these assholes stay in the right lane.
