I've been rocking the stock computer bag my company gave me for a while (yes i know...OT poor), but the time has come to replace it. What leather bag does the OT recommend?

Pass on leather. Purchase a Briggs & Riley computer bag. And if you travel, make sure you get one that allows you to pass through TSA without having to take your laptop out.
Second choice would be Tumi.

Look to see what they've got at TJ Maxx.

Who travels regularly for work and doesn't have pre check?

I didn't. Only because I was usually selected for pre-check when I flew Southwest Airlines.
Traveled weekly for almost 7 years. Glad to be out of that rat race.

I've been looking myself - check ebags & overstock. Overstock has a surprisingly good selection of Italian bags.

Thanks for the Recs. I'll look into them. Sorry for the delay, got tied up catching up with this McCaig Steph thread.. Holy thread of the year. lol

I have Filson and Saddleback. Thoughts:
Filson -
Pros: It's a nice casual bag. It's durable. It doesn't really require break in. I get a lot of compliments on it. It's fairly well organized.
Cons: Zipper access isn't as good as flap access. It's harder to get to things quickly. Probably my biggest con is that Filson bags don't hold their shape that well (naturally due to materials). If you don't keep it at least halfway filled or so, they tend to fold up some. Also, the strap is nice looking but mediocre in use, and when combined with the bag floppiness, can get annoying.
Saddleback:
Pros - Looks very nice, complimented often, smells good, wears well, easier to access inside, well organized, will last forever.
Cons - Heavy, takes a while to wear in, not as malleable for business travel (tight compartments, under seats, etc. Biggest con other than weight is opening and closing. Flip top means you get better access, but it's not as convenient as a snap or zipper.
I use the Filson more, FWIW, but as I write this I'm considering rotating out for the Saddleback.

I like my Orvis computer backpack (even though mine is mostly canvas with leather trim). I travel a lot and I find a backpack easier to deal with on planes and in airports.
