Anyway, the last few pages have proven my original point. So many of you just refuse to blame Trump for anything, despite all the evidence out there, but a hint of wrongdoing from a Dem leader brings out the wolves. This mayor absolutely deserves scrutiny and criticism over this move, just to be clear where I stand on it.

Sorry for not accepting your lies. Give me something that isn't bullshite to blame him for, and I'll gladly do it.

zero fricking evidence, just your opinion on what he said

you've yet to prove any actions of his caused more deaths.

Or, God forbid, so-called journalists to actually do their job. There was a time when the Fourth Estate could be depended upon to hold government accountable, now they just seem to be the government's PR arm.

Iowahawk said it best - "Modern journalism is about covering important stories. With a pillow, until they stop moving."

It's been so politicized for many months now that it would be laughable to me if we hadn't ruined so many lives.

It was instantly politicized in America. So quick I can't even 100% remember the initial party to blame. Trump and downplayed it initially and the dems made bullshite complaints about being xenophobic or racist when Trump shut down the flights.

Throw them all down a well imo.

Some do, but then get labeled fake news, haters, or liberal/conservative hacks. This piece isn't entirely investigative journalism, but does chronicle the White House's handling of the Cornovirus from day one. I'm going to post it knowing it's going to get lambasted for being biased, which I'll admit may be partially true. Still, there are a lot of links and direct quotes to back up a lot of its reporting.

Slate, OMG!!!

This is going to get to French Revolution levels.

These mother frickers have ruined lives for a goddamn cold that affects old people. They’ve demonized crucial elements of American culture and not only shut those places down, but instilled tremendous amounts of fear in the general public.

As a hypochondriac friend of mine said - he’ll never go to a restaurant again.

Cut their damn heads off.

Our society is too fricking soft to do anything about it, and these so called leaders know it. Heads should roll, but they won't.

Any good news about the CV19 was suppressed and there is something nefarious about it.

People of certain ideological beliefs fight good news on that front with tooth and nail, the media has been pushing a propaganda campaign.

being biased

Trump is culpable for some of his handling of the virus as well as some of his rhetoric. Obama, Congress, and State officials are also culpable. The cupboards being bare has been an issue since H1N1 swept through. Budget cuts that led to heavy reductions in our preparedness falls on Congress. Fighting the ban (which wasn't in the article) calling it xenophobic and racist falls on Congress. State officials not following guidelines leading to an estimated 75k deaths in retirement facilities. The partisan nature of our Government officials caused the economic, sociological, and health issues that stem from this pandemic. Anyone trying to pass blame to a single individual is either being purposefully dishonest, or is not intelligent enough to assess what got us here.

Honest question Spleen, if Trump had siezed control and forced policies on the States akin to what Xi did in Wuhan (or other leaders in Socio-democracies), would you have supported it? Would the American people? I ask because we saw the uproar over him trying to send the National Guard to assist police with people saying he didn't have the authority. Would him imposing Federal Mandates not have been the same?

You won't get an honest answer to this. Whatever the Orange Man did is wrong. Whatever he didn't do is what he should have done.

Trump for the most part was in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position. No good options... no one was handling this virus situation. No one.

Glad the news organization reported this, but not happy that I didn’t see the mayor’s name mentioned once in the article. Bet if the mayor was Republican it would be mentioned every other word.

The name in association with political party as well.
