How do these layoffs affect the office real estate market. So many large towers in downtowns across the US and so many vacancies.

I think Covid optimized remote work capabilities and efficiencies. My bias is that is playing a more prominent role v AI as far as office space

Don't worry guys, every one of these folks who have been laid off will be rehired. They will all find gainful employment in the skin harvesting business for all of those T101 units.

I don't think execs fully understand this. It's either that, or they don't care as long as payroll can be shed.

Or, and here’s a thought, we’re entering an actual recession because we printed $4-6T during Covid and never paid the fricking piper.

Something something eternal abundance something.

Elon says saving for retirement will be irrelevant in the next twenty years. Still don't know if that was meant to be a promise or a threat.

Usually people hire out for these types of things because they can’t be bothered to do them. The amount they spend on the tradesman coming to the house is worth the time and aggravation of doing the job yourself.

But YouTube has already made most calls to HVAC, plumbers and other tradesmen obsolete. All that is needed is time and incentive.

Well, if you have nothing to do because AI took your job and you’re on the government dole because… AI took your job, you have time and you have to save money.

Not only that but making it mandatory to work from office 3 or 4 days a week depending on department.

They mandated 5 days for Atlanta corporate employees.

I left in 2023 but people I know who are still there say it's becoming increasingly toxic.

They wouldn’t be if millions of white collar jobs are lost. You do realize this, yes?

If everyone has to become a plumber and electrician, who will need a plumber and electrician?
