Well you have to show up to sign the physical receipt and turn it in - whether you sign, leave early and have a friend turn it in for you, I haven't seen many receipt-takers who would care - Each CLE site is different - but you can't just sign up and not show at all.
After this past weekend, I have 15 for the year

You fill out a form after each session and certify that you attended
Right, but is the bar auditing those? In other words, if you needed 24 hours in a biennial reporting period, would the bar be keeping track and cite you if you failed to do so?

Yeah, I meant is it on the honor system, or does the bar actually monitor and verify whether or not you attended sessions.
They make you sign that scantron sheet certifying that you attended.

Nice.
I've been doing quite a bit more crypto work lately.

As far as i know- yes. The organizers of the CLE send those to the Bar and the Bar maintains a website showing you the hours you’ve received credit for each year. I’ve always gotten mine, but i think they do send you a notice if you’re short

What you do at each CLE site in order to get a receipt turned in, is up to you.

Thanks everyone. They sound much more diligent than NY and NJ.

LA needs to go to total online CLE like TX allows.
I end up having to find some all day in person CLEs here so I can have those transfer over.
PITA.

Oh, that sucks. We’re generally all online up here, except for newly admitted attorneys.
My firm also provides periodic CLE in house courses. I’m sitting in one right now.

At least half an hour has to be taken inside the state of Louisiana I do believe.
In MS we can only max out 6 hours online

I don't think so. I fulfilled my LA credit all via a CLE in Dallas last year I think.
Unless they changed something. Half an hour would be such a bullshite requirement. Please report back if you find that requirement.

Thankfully ours runs until March

I don't usually start my non-online hours until after Christmas. Me and about 2,000 other lawyers are typically crammed in a big auditorium listening to shite we don't care about to get our hours. Can't wait!
