Texas does it based on your birthday. So your CLE year runs date to date.

Seems like that would be tough to track but I guess with computers not so much. I suppose they probably did it so all the lawyers aren't submitting at the same time like I'm sure they do in LA.

TX requires 15 hours I think, which is fine by me so I get that LA rollover.

I've got 22 hours so far. I've had max carryover for the last 10 years. Only twice had to scramble at end of year for the Prof credit.

I thought you could only rollover like 4 hours in LA? So what is the point of earning 9.5 hours over the 12.5 requirement?

Got 14 hours but sitting through another one today to max out my carry over hours. Also, got to sign up to keep it in the budget at work. The free seminar put on by the disciplinary board each year helps knock out ethics and professionalism.

You can carryover up to 8 hours but any ethics or professionalism hours will not count towards the following year’s ethics and professionalism requirement.

I max out the carryover since it’s someone else’s dime and you never know what will come up the next year.

You can roll over 7.5. I get 12-14 hours at one seminar every year that clients want me to attend, with 7.5 roll over hours and 3 hours online that earn me an PLI discout.
