Does anyone need fuel tomorrow? My son-in-law is coming with a 100gal of regular gas. There’s no charge if you need it.

My nephew met him. Before that he about had it with the "party planner lady" setting up for the presser at the fire station. EVERYONE got the 15 minute CV test beforehand

I don't think a blanket statement is fair. Too many variables.
To be clear, that's for everything 100% operational. There is power as close as Basile to the East and Orange TX to the West.
I made a run to LC yesterday and there was a line crew directly in front of my house. They were told the area we are in is high priority. I figured that anyway because we are between all Calcasieu Government buildings downtown and St Pats. If the Enetrgy plant in Sulphur did come on online yesterday, and they can figure a way to route it from there to the substation by my house, I wouldn't be surprised if I have power in 2 weeks. They have already cleaned a lot up around us vs pictures I saw a week ago.
The big transmission structures you see in the middle of right of ways take three 18 wheeler loads to haul in enough pieces to make just one of those. Even if all of the main lines in town are fixed, it's going to take a while before the plant and transmission lines are functioning 100%.
If the transmission lines were up and the plant wasn't, there are still issues. When there are power demands, they "ship" in enough energy from other plants to meet that demand but they can't bring in enough to run an area as big as SWLA without the transmission lines burning up. I heard the further they transmit power, the hotter the lines get.

Well that’s just dandy. We have had trouble with the serv pro people but we are trying to be patient. I’m sure like everyone else they are overwhelmed right now.

fyi for those in need of roofing — guy whos done like 600 roofs in the LC area in the past 18 months said on talk radio today that shingles were already in short supply before this.
His rec was to wait it out — said a tarp is fine but he recommended using (stout hopefully will clarify) some synthetic material that would last 6 months if not more. He said it would provide necessary protection.
Just thought I’d pass that along — I’ll see if I can find the guy and his rec exactly.
So the guy who was speaking is from Hahn Roofing ... he goes by "Boo". Here's the link to the website I have ZERO affiliation -- he just sounded super knowledgeable and honest

Nations Guard will be at Walmart neighborhood market in Moss Bluff and at McMurray Park from 8a-6p
Food, Ice, water, tarps.
Food, Ice, water, tarps.

I’m told ALL water plants in LCH are up and running! Check your pressure everybody. Reminder we’re under boil advisory indefinitely.

He's not wrong. Manufacturing slowed to a crawl over Covid. All building materials were in short supply before this. There was a time recently my guys couldn't find privacy fence panels in any state I cover. Of course, as a result, building materials were sky high already.

I know 3 in LCH were for a fact. I’m assuming they trucked in temporary facilities. I can tell you everyone in this town is busting arse right now. Yeye!

So did you find a house?? There are more listed in Carencro on FB marketplace -- I can't vouch for a single one BUT check it out if your wife has time.

They are saying 8 weeks to be fully operational. Some units might come up before others but they wont spin them all the way up at first

I saw 18 wheeler loads of water pumping into the city lines in some areas yesterday.

At least. The good news is the estimating software adjusters use will adjust with the market price usually. The bad news is the logistics of getting materials will be a mess for a while.
