Morning. Slept late then woke up to a sick kiddo. Thanks for the updates from those heading back into already affected areas. Worried about the trees around my in-laws older home on Lake St John.

Add in this guy from Breaux Bridge who hangs out on the Political Board and we have the perfect mix.
US Government needs to combat this weather with ice.

More likely it’s the entire bag of sour patch kids my 13 year old son ate while I was focused on this thread. Parent if the year here.
No family left in LC. In-laws are on Lake St John and surrounded by huge trees. More worried we will be heading down there with chainsaws to dig them out.
Hope your family is well.

does TWC know or care about the chemical plant fire?
I figured they would've been all over that

We just had a massive gust come through from the opposite direction and now it’s back out the east again. I don’t know what the hell that was. You can see it there. It rattled the vehicle and I thought it got myself into trouble.

I used a 6500 watt from Sears after Gustav. Ran two refrigerators, ice maker, window unit, tv and lamps without a problem. Home Depot and Lowes have similar models if you can find one. The AC usage was the main issue but I think with all running I was only at about 70% capacity (not counting peak wattage).

Amazing that some of the sailboats in that picture are still upright with masts undamaged. We had a sailboat in Pass Christian harbor for Katrina, and we never did recover it. It's either at the bottom of the Mississippi Sound or back in some piney woods.

A little eddy in the flow, kind of like a tiny mesovortex maybe?
