These are my favorite threads each year. I just wish we were watching these storms close in on some far away country and not our homes.

That’s what I want to have on hand when the power goes out. Milk.

Take a look at the wind map on MyRadar if you have it. It is quite impressive. There's a definite cyclone-esque spot of wind south of Marco's "center". Weird.

I got milk tonight because I know I am going to run out when everyone else is stocking up for the milk sandwiches.

They are also saying wind shear in the gulf is very low right now. I really don't understand it.

NHC discussions have downplayed shear in the Gulf the past couple days. They've said low to moderate shear a couple of times. I don't think that trough is going to have alot in the way of shear, at least after a day or two.

Cuba stands a chance to shred Laura with that track.

I’m banking more on dry air in the gulf. The Cuba mountains ain’t shite if the gulf is prime.

Your gonna see 2 weak systems hit . One will hit west Texas and the other will be between NOLA and Destin. If it trends more East toward Destin, it won’t be bad.....

Bookmark it if you want. The new models will come out at 11pm, but all models have pretty much sucked this year, so who knows....

What's up with the models this year? Seems like they've gotten worse as the season has gone on. Didn't they just get upgraded?

I just noticed that. That C-130 is still heading towards Laura. Not sure if that’s the HH or not though

Weather underground used to have a tropical section and these Metrologist and amateur weather geeks etc talk about all this shite. I remember reading their discussion on Katrina and it hitting the hot spot of water, which caused the second eyewall and saying shite like , omg, those pure people etc. they knew their shite. That’s when I knew we were screwed, and when I convinced some people to leave their houses on the beach. Several of them would have been killed, one couple didn’t leave and died.

Is there anything like that around anymore.

All the cut airline flights hurt the models

No way. Definitely for Marco, Not for Laura.

Clarification, I was saying dry air won't be an issue, not commenting on the mountains.

The Euro for example uses data from jetliners/passenger planes.......Corona has caused a 14,000 employee layoff..... less flights.... is one reason for the models sucking.

Marco is going to clean out the Gulf and Laura is going to have decent conditions. The man will do all the work per usual.
