Crestview floods when it rains bad in LC already right? I imagine all the businesses on Ryan street will be toast because they flood already with bad weather

Do you have leashes handy (if they are dogs)?
I put a leash by the bed just in case

That's a lot more believable than the first one.

And just looking at radar and IR, the northern eyewall is probably the strongest part.

here's my question... since it's a dropsonde reading would it be a gust or sustained?

and since 2 separate dropsondes have winds in the 5 territory... will the NHC bump it up at the 12:00 position update?

An hour. Then the eye then another hour.

163 MPH at the surface this time. It's going to get an upgrade to Cat 5 at midnight if I had to guess...

Eric Larsen’s book Isaac’s storm about the Galveston hurricane in 1900 is what the people in Cameron will face tonight.
Incredible book about what happened with that storm.

So you are gonna be borderline. 10' is the border as Ike was a little less than that and this will be worse. Gonna be close for you. Depends too in that area what road you on, cause like bank street, that shite turns into a river. But west of st Louis usually holds up decent and I would think you will be ok, but gonna be very close.

Dude. Me either. Listening to Jeff say Cameron and Holly Beach are taking 100 mph right now gives me butterflies. And describing surge doesn't include the wave height is awful.

Moving at 15 mph so that 19 miles is over an hour of pure hell.

Why do they keep saying 100 mph winds like it’s a big deal. I have been in 100 mph winds in every hurricane.

This storm has 150-160 mph sustained winds, which I think means 30 seconds or more or something like that. You can have gust usually 20% or more of sustained winds, so you will have gust of 180-200 mph an hour. Only Camille has ever had wind gust measured that high

LC is only down to 998 millibars so far. Much more wind to come. Consider this the appetizer.

Very slightly to the west and will put LC area in the eastern eye wall the whole time, worse case scenario.
